LEARN FROM YOUR FAILURES,OR YOU WILL FAIL TO LEARN

A Graduation Wish

The high school commencement speaker was a president of a large corporation. He was chosen for the occasion because of his success. Yet his speech came with a most unusual wish for the graduates.
The speaker told the students sitting before him in their graduation gowns, "If I could have one hope for you as you go out into the world, it would be this: I hope you fail. I hope you fail at something that is important to you." He went on to say how his own early life had been one failure after another, until he learned to see failure as an effective teacher.
Before discovering the high ground we are looking for, we may need to see the failure of the dreams we hold in our hearts.

The lessons we learn form our failures
Are lessons that help us suceed,
And if we are wise and we heed them,
Then failure is just what we need.

Re-invent yourself

Take stock of the times when you have done as well as when you have met with setbacks. In those areas that you feel you have not done well, try to think of other methods to how similar situations can be handled should they occur again. Doing so will allow new ideas to flow. Make room in your life to try our different things . This can include trying a new route on your way to work or home, discovering another place to play for spending your recess or reading books by author who is new to you. Making these small changes in your life can give you fresh perspectives.

SUCESS IS IN YOUR HANDS

I just came across a motivational article it sparked off my interest.

Pave the way by creating new opportunities for yourself.

When life throws you unexpected challenges, how you handle them is what really matters.
Albert Einstein said: " In the middle of every difficulty lies opportunity."
You do not have to wait for a problem to turn into an opportunity. From time to time, you may make mistakes, but you can learn from them. When something does not go the way you want, you must start taking steps to amend it. Similarly, if opportunity does not know on the door, then you may have to initiate the knocking yourself. Recognize that there are times in your life when you have to make your own luck. I agree with Wei Kang that sometimes luck plays a very important role too. Being optimistic and enthusiastic like Johnathan Chen gives you an energy to face uncertainties and seek out new opportunities.

CONFRONT YOUR FEARS

Manage your anxiety about public speaking by visualizing success.

Fear is an unpleasant feeling of perceived risk or danger, real or not.
It functions to make us alert and ready for action should we encounter problems. Depending on the manner in which you handle your apprehension, fear can either stir you to action or immobilize you.
Why do so many people dread public speaking? The truth is, most people are fearful of speaking in public.Instead they are more apprehensive about the unfavorable scenarios that they have built up in their minds.
For instance, people who have a phobia of public speaking may be afraid of rejection. If you perceive yourself being rejected and faltered as a speaker, this may very well be a self-fulfilling prophecy. Usually, speakers who are not confident are likely to lose their audiences attention. One of the most effective techniques of dealing with the fear of public speaking is to visualize yourself confidently making a speech in front of many people.
On the flip side, having fear is not always a bad thing. if you never experience fear any fear, it is likely that you are living your life much too safely and advoid challenges.
It is only when you conquer your fears and venture out of your comfort zone that you can learn and grow most as a person.

Heart song

HEARTSONG POEM

Your swimming up stream
in oceans of blue
Do you feel like your sinking?
Are you sick of the rain after all you have been through?
Well I know what you are thinking
When you can't take it
You can make it
Sometime soon I know you will see

Cause when you are in your darkest hour
And all of the light just fades away
When you are like a single flower whose colours have turned to shades of gray
Well hang on and be strong

We are taking each step one day at a time
You can't loose your spirit
Let live and let live forget and forgive
It is all how you see it
And just remember keep it together
Don't you know you're never alone

Cause when you are in your darkest hour
And all of the light just fades away
When you are like a single flower whose colours have turned to shades of gray
Well hang on, and be strong

No you are not defeated
And soon you will be smiling once again
Then you won't have to feel it
Let it go with the wind
Time passes us by
And know that you are aloud to cry

Cause when you are in your darkest hour
And all of the light just fades away
When you are like a single flower whose colours have turned to shades of gray
Well hang on and be strong

Reflection

The speech was excellent, astounding, impactful, inspiring, superb and powerful. I have a lot of ways to describe it. It blows your mind away. (A little exaggerated) It was also very inspiring.
I was shocked! I have never seen Bryan talk so boldly and confidently before. His words were oozing with pride. The day before the speech, I played badminton with him. He looked like a little shy. He giggled, laughed and even joked. He did not look like a person with “power” (potential). I really admire him. Kudos to him! I will try and improve myself and speak like him. I found something interesting… I noticed that Bryan talk like MC, so does Jonathan. They all gestured and I felt that they were talking to me. Their words came alive!
I believe Time management is very important. Without managing our time, we may no be able to complete things or even forgetting to do things. Self-encouraging is extremely important. Let me share with you my “poignant” experience.
One day, I went for green house practice to train. I met a girl from 6D called Katrina ( I think so). She asked me what class was I from. I told her 6A.
“What about you?” I asked.
She sighed and replied , “ 6D… D for despise, do you despise me?”
“ No! Of course not! Where do you want to go next year, your secondary school, dream school?” I questioned.
“ I have no dream school, all I wish is to pass my PSLE,” she replied disappointedly.
I felt sad for her. She was lively, energetic and pure. She was the only girl running for green house. How noble! I decided to talk to her and help her in some areas. We realized that we even bought the same Nitendo DS Lite R4 catridge at the same place. ( PLS don’t report)
We should have more inspiring talks like the coming Adam Khoo talk. It can touch many people’s LIVES including YOURS!
